The SSIS Physical Education Programme provides opportunities for every student to enjoy and challenge themselves in sports and outdoor activities. It also develops their cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills through the participation of PE lessons and CCA.
In line with our school mission and philosophy, the PE Golf Programme was first introduced in the 2004/5 PE curriculum for our Primary 5 students. It was such a huge success and now it has expanded to include both Primary 5 and Primary 6 students. Professional golf instructors from The Sun Island Golf and Country Club are specially invited to coach our students during their PE lessons in the school campus. Besides learning the basic golf skills, our students will also learn about the rules and regulations of golf, and respect for the golf course and fellow golfers. The 10-week programme includes 2 practical hands-on sessions at Sun Island. Visit www.sunislandclub.com to read more about SunIsland.
The Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Programme in SSIS comprises activities from 3 categories, namely Sports (such as Basketball, Gymnastics, Soccer, In-Line Skating, etc), Aesthetics ( such as Choir, Chinese Traditional Musical Instruments, Ballet, Oil Painting and Visual Arts, etc) and Hobbies/ Interests Groups (such as Origami, Chess Club, Science Club, Junior Toastmasters Club, etc). All students must choose one CCA, which is conducted during curriculum hours in the school campus.
